Overview

Self-taught, Kean has developed his own particular style, which has led him from graffiti to abstraction. His knowledge of colour shading and nuance possesses strong emotional power, prompting the viewer to dream and contemplate. In this, Kean's works join the American Color Field tradition, but also and above all the Californian Light and Space movement, wherein artists are centrally preoccupied with the study of perceptual phenomena, notably light and space.
