Overview

The exhibition will feature a series of plastic resin objects in bright, tangy colors, their shapes inspired by lollipops. Displayed on a stand, these objects can later be hung on the wall using a fixation system.

A video illustrating the creative process, along with four photographs of these unique objects, will also be exhibited.

Founded in 2009, the Dutch collective ROTGANZEN consists of Robin Stam (1981), Joeri Horstink (1982), and Mark van Wijk (1984), all of whom are originally from Rotterdam, where they attended the prestigious De Kooning Academy of Art.
The ROTGANZEN studio is located in a building next to a kindergarten in central Rotterdam, with windows overlooking a colorful and lively courtyard. The world of this artist collective seems to be infused with the carefree and free-spirited nature typical of children, though not without an underlying sense of cruelty.

Similarly, the objects created by ROTGANZEN, easily recognizable and festive in appearance, take on an alarming aspect when the characters, sometimes randomly placed, are deciphered on the surface of the objects, issuing a warning. With a theme full of contradictions, the sculptures, objects, and installations—sometimes monumental—by ROTGANZEN provoke with their form or the media used. They embody a sharp and uncompromising point of view, in a manner that is both immediate and unsettling.
